Advice on Renewable Energy

Climate 1

    WHAT IS RENEWABLE ENERGY ?

Wind power, solar PV (photovoltaic), solar thermal, wave power, ocean energy, hydropower are examples of renewable sources of power. This means that, unlike oil, gas or turf which are finite and will run out if we keep using them, renewables can provide power indefinitely into the future. Using renewable energy means not having to worry about supply. Issues such as peak oil, energy price rises and security of supply also become less of a concern.

    OUR SERVICES:

We provide a full advice service on the following renewables: solar thermal panels, heat pumps (ground sourced or air source), wood pellet boilers, wood chip boilers, wood log gasification boilers, wind turbines and solar PV (photovoltaic) panels. Grant aid is available from the state for many of these technologies. We also give guidance on mechanical ventilation heat recovery systems. Greener Smarter can provide various levels of advice, including:

    • installation cost and running cost information (including quotations from local installers if required)
    • payback analysis so that you know how long a certain technology takes to pay for itself
    • use and maintenance information
    • advice on suitability of a system for your particular property
    • knowledge about the environmental benefits of the various renewable options
    • information on grants available
    • recommendation regarding the most appropriate system for your needs and lifestyle
